SELF RESCUE COURSE, MT
My wife and I were incredibly lucky to be paired with Aki for three days of instruction on self-rescue and alpine climbing techniques. Both of us are educators and we immediately recognized the high level of instruction that Aki brings to his clients. He is considerate, compassionate, highly skilled, patient and very funny. Probably most important for us, he has an infectious commitment to safety and practicality when climbing. He helped us learn new skills, correct bad habits, and overall improve pretty much every aspect of our technical skillset. Over the course of our short course Aki found the perfect balance of direct instruction and practice such that, when we were done, we had learned far, far more than we had originally intended. Several weeks after our course, we are still commenting on the singularly wonderful experience we had with him. It was a pleasure to work with such a professional and we would be lucky to climb with him again.

GANNETT PEAK, WY (HIGHEST POINT)
Aki did a great job of guiding my brother and me to the summit of Gannett Peak. He was patient and showed mastery of the skills needed to make the trek and climb safe. I was also impressed with Aki’s skills as a woodsman since trails and campsites would not have been evident to me if I were trekking alone.
